Clarehouse rendering.

This is an illustration I made of a project done by Planning Design Group. Clarehouse is a hospice center nestled within the natural woodlands of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

a Town Center.

This illustration is of the Ecotourism's town center. It is located just outside of the multimodal transportation system within the courtyard between the strips of mixed-use buildings and greenways. It is an area for art, entertainment, and activity.

Development Overview.

This is a basic Sketchup model rendered in Photoshop. The illustration is an overview of an LID neighborhood connected to a multimodal transportation station, mixed-use areas, and a greenway system made up of trails, outdoor museums, and parks.

Walkways.

The original illustration for the Ecotourism project. It is a very quick digital rendering that illustrates the sustainable greenway in the development.

a Window View.

From the inside of the condo, this is a window view overlooking the development. Originally: a basic sketchup model that is embellished in Photoshop.

Watercolor Works.

A study using watercolor. Little techniques make the difference, such as fading color into larger amounts of white space creates a more artistic look.

a Desert Oasis.

Located in Nevada, this is a section taken of a proposed development. The nontraditional colors are used to illustrate the desert setting.

a Night Scene.

This is a multimodal transportation station for a community development in Las Vegas. Since it operates at long hours, it's good to view it at a late hour.

Kairos.

This is a simple graphic illustration for a group. The group's name is "Kairos." Kairos stands for "an appointed time for the purpose of God." As a more meaningful illustration, I created a graphic that resembles the biblical story about God writing in the sand. Since I do not live near a beach, I created the sand writing in Photoshop. The sand and foot prints are images from flickr.com.

Mediums of Art.

I carry a sketchbook everywhere. I try to challenge myself by trying new mediums of art. Both are pen and ink drawings. One is highlighted by color pencil, the other is one of my first attempts to watercolor.

the Venetian.

A sketch of the traffic circulation (both pedestrian and vehicular) at Las Vegas's the Venetian. Here the fountains are well used in this traffic area; visitors actually sit and rest on the ledges, rather than just stare at the stonework. A series of bridges also give visual interest as well as accommodate the different types of traffic: vehicular, pedestrian, and gondola traffic.

a Back Yard.

One of my first digital illustrations. This image was created to showcase what a client's empty yard can become with the implementation of this intimate garden space.

the Studio Nautilus.

This architectural model is made out of strathmore and nylon. It is entitled the studio "nautilus because the spiral, chambered shell serves as an abstract studio for a sculptor/artist. This artist gets her inspiration from sea creatures and outer space, the combination of which her studio embodies.

a Business Card.

As a project, I created a design firm that specializes in Landscape Architecture. This is a quick business card design that I created. The name of the firm is "Zayn Z'al Barr Design" (ZZB design) which is Arabic for the "Fruit of the Land", which I believe that the card explains itself, front and back.

Sustainability Poster.

A simple teaser slide to promote LID- Low Impact Development. This is a type of community development that promotes an actual sense of community while implementing mitigating techniques that decrease the impact of storm-water runoff within the development.

an Oak Tree.

This pen and ink drawing was made for a signage illustration to show the natural water cycle in an Oklahoman environment. Flat plains, scrub trees, and the occasional giant oak tree illustrate the environment of Oklahoma.

a Bridge.

This marker rendering was made with the techniques and styling of a watercolor painting. I made this picture because most individuals mistook my marker renderings for watercolor, so I made an effort to actually make a sketch that resembles watercolor.

Night Scene study.

I did this water color study in my sketch book to play with the colors and lighting required for a night scene. The gradient of light to dark from the middle adds interest and contrast, which really makes a difference. The other valuable technique is the usage of reflection on the pavement; this gives a graphically realistic interest to the illustration.

Internships.

Integris Grove hospital's new wing requires an entrance and plaza design. Design, construction details, planting plan, and grading plan subsequently follow.

Leinbach's residential design recreates its small backyard to accommodate family and social gatherings. A mock-up perspective illustrates the potential of the plan and details for the arbor, garden, lawn, and spa.

Truth.

This conceptual photomanipulation is created with deviant stock photos as well as personal brushes. This personal work was inspired by the intention to play with texture, edge, and emotion.

Ecotourism.

A Planning project issued by Oklahoma State University's Landscape Architecture program. Our assignment is to choose a place with a lack of connectivity through efficient transportation: ie, railways, and provide that needed connectivity. I choose Las Vegas, the isolated, lavish destination city. With my plan, I will introduce ecotourism to the tourist-capital of our nation. This project won an OKSLA merit award in Planning.

From nationally to locally, connections to the existing Amtrak rails are made to the Las Vegas area, allowing wholistic connectivity to the surrounding areas.

In addition to this connectivity, a development is established.. A town center connects the greenway, trails, single-family LID neighborhood, and multi-use developments to the multimodal transportation system. This development is sustainable, family-oriented, and mobilizes connectivity for the city.
